Mandelieu-La Napoule is situated opposite the Mediterranean Sea, the Bay of Cannes and the luxurious Lérins Islands.
The foothills of Esterel which push its red rocks so characteristic up to the creeks of the seaside, the Mount San Peyre which overhangs the pleasure port, the greens of the “Old Course” in the shade of the hundred-years-old pine trees and both castles give to the coast of Mandelieu-La Napoule all its charm, promise of peace and serenity.

Background

From the second part of the 18th century, English, big travellers, discover Côte d'Azur and build there their villas. To decorate their garden, they import numerous plants and in particular the mimosa of Australia.
It acclimatized itself so perfectly that its culture allowed the development of the city by the business of the cut flower. During this blessed period was built in 1891 the first golf of Côte d'Azur, the "Old Course" thanks to Michael of Russia, nephew of the Tzar, as well as a race track today disappeared.
Both welcomed all the European aristocracy.
At the beginning of the 19th century, two Chateau of medieval appearance are built which, still today, give to La Napoule its so particular character.

The Mimosa Festival

Since the early days, life in Mandelieu-La Napoule has reflected the life cycle of its favourite flower. 
Every winter in January and February, as soon as the mimosa is in bloom, nature awakens and envelops the landscape in heady fragrances.
This period – the epitome of "winter sun" - is marked each year in February by the "Mimosa Festival” that is steeped in tradition and local folklore, offering a warming experience for the eyes and the heart.
