The « Nuits du Château » Festival - Programme 2007

Since 1997, the Tourist Office of Mandelieu-La Napoule, in partnership with La Napoule Art Foundation, and on the initiative of the Municipality, organizes in the main courtyard of the Chateau of Napoule, prestigious frame, a festival allying music, poetry and theatre.
Since 2001, dance was chosen to perfect the summer programming.

The increasing success of this event and its fame testify of its success. Completing the numerous summer animations, very quickly, this Festival «Les Nuits du Château " developed itself thanks to the quality and to the variety of the programs offered to the spectators but also to the talent of the artists who occur there.

Glenn Miller Story

Musical universe of the 40s made, among others, of magnificent romantic melodies «Moonlight Serenade» and rhythms to swing «In the mood”. Free entrance, this show is offered by the General Council

Duet piano, “lo mas rapido del mundo”
Fabrice Eurly and Renaud Patigny
Fabrice Eurly, exceptional artist, is a surprising pianist, who, by his way of interpretation makes the public amazed (classic, rock, boogie woogie, ragtime).

July the 23rd
« Racines, une Histoire d'hommes libres »
Show by the Ballets of the Maritime Alps. It represents the period of the slavery, when the white man enslaved his “brother of colour”. The dance is used here acutely to redraw the difficult moments the black people have had to cross to be free.

Sashird Lao    
Only trio of the world constituted by 3 voices, 2 sax ., 1 trombone, 1 flute, 1 darbuka, 1 snare drum, … Conjugation of jazz, music of the world, urban grooves….

July the 27th
« My caba’jazz »         
Company Saltimbanco made of 4 dancers, 1 young professional singer and some musicians.
It is extravagant, sensual, with the real soul of the cabaret of former days. Red velvet, felted lights, on the standards of past and present. The originality: the nude bodies and the glitter do not have place here.

« History of the tango of Astor Piazzolla »       
Company Méditango
It is a tribute to "Astor Piazzolla", with 5 musicians and 2 couples of dancers. Mysteries and voracious passions of the tango, inexhaustible source of inspiration for the musicians.
Traditional, jazz, classical and contemporary music become allied for an entertainment of one hour and half interpreted with bandoneon, piano, guitar, violin and bass.

The ballets of Serge Alzetta  
(Composition of dance of Serge Alzeta and Genny Blanchard by Serge Alzetta's ballets) It is a creation for 6 dancers and 2 comedians. Caricatured interpretations of characters which handle humour on music of Prince, Santana, Gainsbourg, Bach, Puccini, Bizet, Count Basie...
